About Us

Since its creation in 1954 by a handful of enthusiastic amateur players, HAODS' membership has been growing from strength to strength, with members bringing a variety of theatrical experience with them. The early days were fraught with financial constraints, but nothing could dampen the desire to “put on a show”. The Society's now traditional bi-annual productions have not only become more diverse, but challenging too, as each year our experience grows and we attract more talent, both on stage and behind the scenes.

From its early beginnings in the old “Capitol Theatre”, and temporary locations in successive years, HAODS is now privileged to be able to stage its productions at the town's new Capitol Theatre in liaison with Horsham District Council with whom we have worked for a number of years.

With a growing membership, invaluable support from the Horsham community, together with many local organisations, HAODS continues its quest to provide regular and affordable entertainment. New members are always welcome to join us at HAODS House at the Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre (map) where our purposely constructed rehearsal rooms and stage props are located.
