In June 2004, we had our 50th Anniversary Dinner, which was a fantastic event that many of our Haods members and friends attended. We were delighted that our President Sir Norman Wisdom was able to attend and enjoy the celebrations with us.
When asked to propose the toast to the members, Sir Norman said that he was not too good at speeches and instead gave an impromptu rendition of two songs (ever the showman!) The musical challenge he gave the band was taken in its stride as his unexpected cabaret thrilled us all.
HAODS has done well over the last fifty years and we look forward to the next fifty – with the help of our members and the support of our audiences. If you have any additional pictures from this event do let us know as we’d love to share them.
